PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), the UK’s largest professional services firm, is the best company for Wellbeing, according to the annual Sunday Times Best Big Companies index.
The firm won the award for having the most supportive working environment and was praised for its emphasis on improving the work / life balance of its employees. PwC was also in the top three companies shortlisted for the best training and development category.
Gaenor Bagley, Head of People, PwC, commented:
“The awards reflect how high on our agenda wellbeing, and development, has been for our firm and people and the progress we’ve made. There’s always more we can do, so we’ll continue to invest more this year, because the working environment and the pressures people face are changing all the time. It’s also recognition that supporting our people means supporting our business and our clients better.”
PwC also came top of the major professional services firms in the overall Best Big Companies to work for category, ranking eleventh overall, and was specifically recognised for its strong social conscience and charitable work. Last year PwC invested some £11m in community work through volunteering, matched funding and mentoring.
